Two shows at the Jazz Standard NYC with trumpeter Josh Lawrence

Philadelphia native Josh Lawrence is one of the voices rising up above the chorus of jazz trumpet today. With his newest release Color Theory (which received a 4-star review from Downbeat), Josh brings together all of the groove and intent to be expected of a musician with his credentials, being an integral member of Orrin Evans' Captain Black Big Band, and recording credits that include Erykah Badu and Boyz II Men.

For this engagement he brings a stellar lineup, which includes the celebrated Curtis Brothers, Luques and Zaccai, along with Captain Black bandmates Caleb Curtis (no relation) and drummer Anwar Marshall.
